BORN IN DHOUR SHWEIR IN 1921.

  • Graduated from AUB in 1941 with a B.A. in Civil Engineering.
  • Awarded master's degrees in Civil Engineering (1946) and in Architecture (1950) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
  • Was a founding member of the School of Engineering program in 1951.
  • Appointed in 1951 Associate Professor of Architectural and Civil Engineering.
  • Promoted to Professor of Architectural Engineering in 1956.
  • Servedd as Dean of  the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture from March 1965 until his untimely death on February 17, 1976, when he was fatally shot as he entered the Bechtel Engineering Building.

    Raymond S. Ghosn was a man of extraordinary personal warmth and gentleness, an eminent architect whose accomplishments included many professionally and esthetically distinguished buildings at AUB and throughout Lebanon and the region, and a Dean who did much to enhance the quality of education in the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, AUB.
