Writer Asma FREIHA


Born in Beirut Sept. 1944 to Dr. Albert Gabriel Lattouf and Odette Mikhail Zughayar.

Studied in Collège Protestant Français de Jeunes Filles from 1947 to 1962. Graduated in Law at Faculté de Droit USJ 1966. Married to Issam Saïd Freiha CEO of Dar Assayad, 3 children, 7 grand children.

Worked as an editor in Al Anwar weekly supplement with the famous Egyptian journalist Ali Amin from 1972 to 1975. Wrote with Viviane Ghanem “Les Libanais et la Vie au Liban de l’Indépendance à la Guerre”, published by Dar Assayad in Nov. 1992. This 2 volumes book was exhibited for one month at the French Assemblée Nationale in Paris in Jan. 1993. Wrote with Viviane Ghanem “Lebanese Imprints on the Twentieth Century” volumeI published by Dar Assayad in 2006 and currently writing the second volume.

Member of the executive committee of Baalbeck International Festival (2007-2011). Was invited with Viviane Ghanem to give an hour talk about the Golden age of Beirut at the Victoria and Albert Museum in Nov. 2013.
